What we're building KŪ around.
Aloha,
KŪ Project has taken a lot of different forms over the years. Training. Coaching. Content. Conversations. Stories. Products. Experiences.
And lately, we’ve been asking ourselves a simple question: What connects all of it?
The answer we keep coming back to is connection.
Connection to ourselves.
Connection to each other.
Connection to community.
Connection to place.
That has always been somewhere inside the work. We're just becoming more intentional about building around it.
It’s why we’re developing the KŪ Digital Moʻolelo Preservation Initiative. It’s why we continue to sit down and talk story. It’s why we're studying the objects we use, the spaces we gather in, and how design can bring people closer instead of pushing them apart. And it’s also why movement is beginning to find its way back into KŪ.
Movement and physical practice were part of our roots. We’re not going backward or rebuilding what KŪ used to be, but we are interested in what that practice can mean now, as another way of strengthening our relationship with ourselves and how we show up in the world.
All of this is changing how we think about what KŪ can become. Not simply a media company. Not simply a product brand. Not simply a podcast.
But a Hawaiʻi-rooted creative practice exploring how we create more meaningful connection through the stories we preserve, the things we make, the ways we move, and the spaces we create.
Some of what we're working on will be familiar. Some of it won't. You'll see us experimenting more. Making things. Studying things. Moving. Spending time with people. Documenting what we learn along the way.
But the question underneath it all will remain pretty simple: Does this create an opportunity for connection?
If it does, it's probably worth exploring. We're excited to show you where that question takes us.
Mahalo for continuing to stand with us.
A hui hou,
Daniel Aipa
