New Year Resolutions are a waste of time. At The Kū Project, we stopped making resolutions because we became honest with ourselves that it’s just not the best way to go about the year.
You already make yearly goals. New Year Resolutions don’t replace goals so what’s the use of them. Our Founder, Daniel Aipa, shared that over the past several years he made a New Year Motto.
A motto is a short sentence or phrase you choose that serves as your guide and encapsulates your beliefs and ideals.
This idea came from the book, One Word That Will Change Your Life. When you make a Motto, it serves as a daily reminder to stay on track on living a life that brings you meaning and value. If you’ve made resolutions in the past and haven’t kept any of them, why not try something different?
New Year Motto examples:
- Follow through
- Seize the moment
- Make strength contagious
- Do more of what you love doing
- Live Kū
Take time to think about what you want 2016 to be about and make it into a Motto. For The Kū Project, our New Year Motto is to Expand and Grow to Reach Our Potential.
