WHY THIS MATTERS
Moʻolelo lives
in people.
Not every story makes it into a book.
Some live around dinner tables.
Some are shared between generations.
Some are carried through music, food,
work, language, laughter, and the places we return to.
And some are only told when someone takes the time to ask.
KŪ Digital Moʻolelo exists to create space for those stories
to be shared, preserved, and carried forward.
Because when we listen to one another, we understand a little
more about where we come from — and each other.
KŪ DIGITAL MOʻOLELO PRESERVATION INITIATIVE
Preserve today.
For tomorrow.
The KŪ Digital Moʻolelo Preservation Initiative is an effort by KŪ Project to record, preserve, and share the voices and stories carried within our communities.
Our first goal is to document 50 moʻolelo over the next year through recorded conversations, oral histories, photographs, and digital preservation.
The initiative is fiscally sponsored by Independent Arts and Media (IAM), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, allowing community support to help make this work possible.
