The Ultimate Midnight Snack

We are all guilty of it.

You roam around late at night and either look in the fridge several times as if hoping the food in their changes or reach for that midnight snack that calls out to you.  Maybe it’s the pint of ice cream, slice of pumpkin pie, or a bite of a sandwich.  But I think we can all agree that the ultimate midnight snack may just be whipped cream straight from the can.

One of the guys asked me, “Aipa, I have the worse late night cravings and am always reaching for that can of whipped cream.  I shouldn’t be doing that ya?”

I looked at him and said, “I can’t answer that.  Because dammit – whipped cream straight from the can is the best.”

We shared a laugh and went back to training.

You see, we can’t be stressing out over the little things without being aware of the bigger picture.  People expect that if you are into training, eating healthy, and living a fit life that you have to be a cold turkey in everything that is considered “junk” for you.

It’s like when you decide to have a piece of cake with a scoop of ice cream, and everyone makes a big deal as if you just kicked a kid off a tricycle.

I love when that happens.

Because while they talk about how they shouldn’t be eating it, or that they will have to run it off the next day, or say to me, “Are you sure that’s Ku?” I grab another piece of cake, another scoop of ice cream, throw on some sprinkles, and eat it with a big smile on my face.

Now, you may be scratching your head…let me explain.

Remember, you have to look at the bigger picture.  If the majority of your life is based around fitness and health, you barely eat “junk” stuff, you have control over your eating, and you know you can afford to eat some “junk” stuff – then you go right ahead and reach for that can of whipped cream.

A little wisdom:  Too much of a good thing isn’t always a good thing.
