My Constant Battle Against Myself

We all have those times when we question and doubt ourselves.  When people say they only focus on the positives and not the negatives, to me, is an oxymoron.  Why? Because while remaining positive is always a good goal to have, there can be no positive without accepting that there are negatives.

If there were no negatives than there would be no such thing as positives.  It all comes down to how you channel those energies of negative and positive.  Your mana.

Too many focus on being positive and all flowery but I’m not wired that way.

I cuss at myself and get frustrated.

We all have personal aggressions, frustrations, pain, and self-doubts. It’s part of life. We have a choice to either channel those negative energies into something positive such as exercise, creating and contributing OR something negative like alcohol and drug abuse, violence, and hate.

We have a choice.

When I catch myself letting the negative energy get the best of me, I accept it, and sometimes tell myself, “Shut the fuck up and BE KŪ.”

It’s a constant battle.

One of the most notable meanings for Kū is being the god of war and destruction.  I believe these battles are what it takes in order to build a Ku body and live Ku.  The battles between opposite energies  and building the strength within to destroy the limiting thoughts and behaviors that keep us from standing Kū.

So instead of acting as if everything is always sunshine and rainbows, be aware of the negatives and become stronger in order to channel those negative energies into positive outlets.

Here are a list of some of my positive outlets:

  • Exercise
  • Coaching
  • Writing
  • Designing
  • Creating content
  • Going to the beach
  • Visiting my wahi pana
  • Cooking
  • Being around good people
