Recharge your Mana and Protect Your Heart in a New Relationship

At an end of a Zoom call, Hi’ilani said, “Eh Daniel, we should do like a KU x HINA talk show.” She leaned in closer to the screen with a smile as she waited for my answer.

“That sounds fun, I’m down,” I replied.

“Ya, we can talk stories about the relationship of Ku and Hina when it comes to relationships,” Hi’ilani commented.

I could tell she’s been thinking of this for a while which made me more excited to explore the idea, “Like the relationship with all kine stuff ya.  Family, friends, partner, work, the ‘aina and of course, the moon.”

“Don’t you think that would be cool?” She said.

“When you like start?”

Kū and Hina are the balancing forces of energy.  According to Hawaiian culture, Kū means to be upright, while Hina means to be laying down.  Kū is referred to as the rising sun while Hina is referred to as the moon.  When there are prayers meant for Kū you face toward the east and for HinaPrayer you look towards the west.  The two co-exist with one another to keep the connection between heaven and earth pono, correct and well.

In the KU x HINA Talks, The Kū Project partners up with Ka Mahina Project to bring the two forces together and explore the balance of the two energies when it comes to relationships – pilina.

The first KU x HINA Talks session covers how to recharge your Mana and how to protect your heart in a new relationship.
