Train With Aipa. Enrollment is Open

Are you interested in building a Kū body to live a Kū life?

Currently, I am honored to have the opportunity to train out of Pacific Elite Sports in Kaneohe, Hawaii.  The facility is beyond words and has more than you need.  In fact, I’m still working my way through all the tools they have.  10689930_328375134003712_6144606166395964250_n

Before I started to train out of this amazing facility, I capped off the amount of people I worked with while training out of my home.  I still have a cap but now that we have access to this facility, I am opening up enrollment to be part of Team Kū.

You may have a few questions and thats cool.  Let me try and help you out there.  Some of the frequent questions are as followed:

What sort of training do you do?

My approach to training is to use the necessary tools in order to get the job done.  I incorporate training methods from olympic weightlifting, powerlifting, strongman, and athletic performance.  The goal behind the training is to improve overall performance and athleticism, prevent injury, and develop well-rounded Kū individuals.  I train everyone as if they are athletes.

What makes you different from the rest of the fitness and strength coaches in Hawaii?

I bring over a decade of experience from being in the fitness industry and strength and conditioning field.  Before moving back home to Hawaii, I was the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at the University of Redlands where I developed programs for 21 collegiate sports, and coached a handful of All-Americans and Championship Teams.  My goal is to become the first gym to integrate Hawaiian practices into modern day strength and conditioning.

Who do you train?

I train individuals who are open minded and ready to work hard.  I work with young athletes to business owners, and everyone follows performance based programming.  Majority of the people I currently train are former athletes who are now in the workforce and looking to fill the void of not being a sport athlete anymore.  But young athletes who are looking to take their performance to the next level are also highly welcomed to be part of a strong community.

Do you customize the training per individual?

When you start off training with us, I will work with you to bring you up on how we train.  This is when it is the most customized because you will be working on bringing up your fitness and strength levels.  Once you are ready to mix it up with the rest of the Team, you will follow our training cycles.  Although everyone may follow the same training cycle, the program is adjusted for each individual based on their strength, fitness, exercise knowledge, and training experience.

Do you do sport specific training?

It depends on the age and training maturity.  I believe in improving overall athleticism before specificity.  Many young athletes try to do too much sport specific training that, in my opinion, sets them back from excelling.  This means that a freshmen in high school should not be worried about sport specific training so much but more on learning the fundamentals of strength training and proper movement mechanics. The older and higher training maturity an athlete becomes the more specific you can get.

What are the times you train?

Currently, I train out of Pacific Elite Sports on Monday-Friday from 4PM to 8PM.  It is broken down by the hour.

Do you do small groups or one-on-one coaching?

I offer one-on-one coaching through appointment only if time is available.  Majority of the training happens in a semi private group setting of 3-5 people.

What if I’m unsure and want to try it out?

That’s cool.  But you have to make an appointment and understand that you won’t be exactly doing the training session.  You will go through a few assessment and enjoy some talking stories with me and the rest of the crew training.  The first two visits are free before we start talking about fees.

Finally…

This is what I do.  This isn’t a side job nor a hobby of mine. It’s my life and the people I work with become part of my life.  We are very mindful of the culture we have built and we are not for everyone.  With that being said, I welcome you to contact me and set up a time to come in, meet Team Kū, and see what it means to build a Kū body.

If youʻd like to contact me, please contact me by email and myself or a member of Team Kū will contact you as soon as possible. CLICK HERE TO EMAIL ME.
